Qualifications gained in the last five years:

Diploma in training skills and techniques

Level 3 advanced diploma in canine training and behaviour, covering:

  • behaviour cognition and emotion
  • positive reinforcement training
  • training classes including puppies
  • canine aggression
  • the effects of early learning, food and exercise on canine behaviour
  • dominance theory revisited

In order to further her knowledge and skills Connie has attended numerous seminars and studied under some of the industry’s most recognised behaviourists such as:

  • Ian Dunbar
  • Jean Donaldson
  • Karen Pryor (advanced clicker training techniques)
  • Patricia Mcconnell
  • Sarah Whitehead and John fisher – founder of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers

Dog law seminar:

  • breed specific legislations
  • Dangerous Dogs Act
  • dog to dog aggression masterclass
  • ‘think dog’ practical canine handling and training course

The training and qualifications have equipped Connie with a valuable knowledge and solid foundation in this rewarding vocation and she is  happy to say that her passion for dog training continues to grow.

Connie’s training has also included extensive volunteering in order to gain essential practical experience alongside her theory coursework, this volunteering included:

  • Police dog training
  • Sheep dog training
  • Puppy classes
  • Rottie rescue centre
  • Puppy training classes
  • Running a doggie day care
